Can you combine this with other funding?

  • FedNor, Northern Ontario Development Program (NODP), Almost every significant northern project stacks NOHFC + FedNor; NOHFC funding is sometimes contingent on FedNor approval, which can add months (NOMA-flagged delay trap).
  • Critical Minerals Innovation Fund, CMIF projects cannot receive concurrent funding from other Ontario government programs (limited exceptions), so pairing with NOHFC on the same project costs is generally not permitted; combined federal + provincial support is capped at 75% of eligible costs.
  • Forest Biomass Program, IBM and MOD stream projects cannot stack with other provincial programs (NOHFC included) and total government funding is capped at 75% of eligible costs; IBP allows stacking to 100% and EBP to 70-100% depending on partners.
