Common questions
Do I have to pay it back?
No. Both streams are explicitly non-repayable, the Interactive stream page describes 'a non-refundable contribution of up to 50% of eligible Ontario expenses,' and the Linear stream is described as a non-repayable contribution.
Which stream do I apply to?
Linear Content for feature film (drama and documentary) and digital series; Interactive Content for video games and XR. Each has its own 2026 deadlines: Linear April 21 / September 22; Interactive April 13 / September 14, all 5:00 PM ET.
How much can a feature film get?
Development: $5,000-$25,000 at up to 50% of Ontario spend. Production: up to 10% of Ontario spend, capped at $400,000 for drama and $200,000 for documentary.
Can Northern Ontario producers stack this with NOHFC?
The IP Fund is province-wide, so Northern Ontario companies are eligible; many northern productions also pursue NOHFC's film and television stream and Ontario tax credits. Check each program's stacking rules in its guidelines, we haven't verified a combined-cap rule.
